Age of Winner Betting

The age of the Grand National winner is a key factor when studying the trends to try and identify the potential winner of the race. Younger horses tend to struggle in the race with the last horse aged under 8 to win the race coming back in 1980 and only two 13 year olds winning in the race's long history. However, if finding the winner seems a daunting task and you'd prefer to have several horses running for you in the race then betting on the age of the winning horse is a good market to bet on.

For example, all three of the most recent winners have been aged 11 while the last nine year-old to win the race was Mon Mome who won back in 2009 for Venetia Williams.
