Top Novices Hurdle
An online betting tip for the Aintree Grand National festival is to consider selections which have not had to hard a season and have possibly bypassed the Cheltenham Festival. This is why a number of short priced favourites get turned over and the form from Cheltenham is not confirmed.
Mildmay Novices Chase
Day 2 kicks off with the Class B handicap chase. This is a three mile handicap for five year olds and older and can be a very difficult race to pick a winner, but if you do it will probably be at a big price and will pay the expenses for the Aintree grand National festival.
Betfred Melling Chase
The Melling Chase is one of the features of the Aintree GrandNational Festival. It brings out the top two mile chasers of the season and is always a very competitive and informative guide to stars of the future. The Melling Chase is run over two mile and four furlongs.
Crabbies Topham Chase
The Topham is a great precursor to the Aintree GrandNational as it is full of thrills and spills over the National Fences. When considering a selection for the Topham make sure your horse jumps well as these fences will test any jumping flaws to the limit. Usually only about half the field make it round this demanding course.
Sefton Novices Hurdle
This is the long distance hurdle race for four year olds and older. This race can show chase stayers for the future. The Sefton is run over three miles and half a furlong.
Alder Hey Handicap Hurdle
The Staying novice chasers get their chance to take centre stage in the Mildmay run over the three mile half a furlong distance. These are the potential long distance chasers of the future and many go on to achieve better things in the years ahead.
Mares Open Flat Race
This is another race for the stayers which completes the card on day two of the Aintree Grand National festival. A handicap which is usually difficult to work out but if you do manage to get lucky it will set you up for the last day of the Aintree festival and Grand National Betting Odds.
